Colin moved to JM Sidlee in April 1994. With only 8 months left to the end of the year on joining, he went on to become the company’s No. 2 top producer in both the local and the international property arena, selling as much as 50% of some developments single-handedly. He continued to be a Top Producer with the company until being offered a management position by the company.

Business Development Manager, JM Sidlee – 1995
Colin was promoted to Business Development Manager and assisted the Company’s MD, Jimmy Lee, in marketing properties and developing businesses in countries such as Australia, China, Indonesia, UK, Malaysia and USA.
Training and Recruitment Manager – 1998
When Mr. Jimmy Lee decided to join the property division of the Port of Singapore Authority and then as the MD of Maple Tree (A subsidiary of Temasek Holdings), Colin joined a medium-sized company in 1998 as an associate and Team Manager but was quickly spotted by the company’s General Manager, Mr. David Hon, and offered the position of Training & Recruitment Manager. As the Training & Recruitment Manager, Colin was responsible for training and grooming all of the real estate agents who had no formal experience in the business. Once these agents found their feet they were then transferred to the different associate managers for continuous guidance.
Whilst at this company, Colin worked closely with the very respectable leader, Mr. David Hon. Together, they grew the company of about 200 agents to 700 agents in 1999.
Managing Director, WJ Lloyds – 2000
Despite offers from top real estate companies, Colin decided to partner with Gabriel Lim to help him restructure and run WJ Lloyds. The training at WJ Lloyds became extremely well known through word of mouth and many experienced agents from bigger companies started to join the class for a fee. One such agent went on to become the Master Franchise owner of Remax.
Director of Training – 2002
After this venture and again despite the approaches of leading players, Colin joined a recognized and enterprising leader of the industry specializing in new homes sales as the Director of Training and Recruitment.
Before long, Mr. David Hon (Executive Director) and Mr. Ivan Hoh (Executive Director) from the previous company came in and offered Colin the position of General Manager and later as Director of Training and together with these two very talented and astute individuals went on to build and develop a profitable company in 2002 – 2003, at a time where it was rare for real estate companies to see profit.
Head of Department, Training & Development, OrangeTee – 2003
Colin then joined OrangeTee in 2003 as HOD for Training and Development (Recruitment). At the time the company of 3 years had about 180 agents and the same thing happened as it did in the previous company. With the support of the Board of Directors and working closely with Mr. Steven Tan the Head of Residential, the company saw an exponential growth to 700 agents in the first year.

Colin’s success in his original role saw him being appointed the Head of Marketing and Mass Communications while continuing to be the Head of Training and Development in 2005.
Appointed as Trainer of Fortune 500 company only after 5 months of selling
Five months into his work with Kirby and with only 5 months experience in sales, the company did something very unusual and approached Colin to be their Dealer Power Specialist (Trainer and Recruiter). They saw in him the only person who could master the presentation script taught by the previous trainer, John Owens. Realizing his tremendous potential they did something that they’ve never done before and Colin became a very powerful and successful trainer for the company, training many successful dealers in the fine art of direct selling.

Colin’s first serious involvement in training in real estate came about when David Hon recognized his ability and got Colin appointed as the Training & Recruitment Manager. Wrote his first Success Training Program called ‘Training for Accelerated Success’ which was a training program way ahead of its time. This result oriented, easy to follow program brought tremendous results.

At WJ Lloyds Realtors, Colin’s training became the talk of the town and many experienced real estate professionals from bigger companies were paying to attend his training, one such agent has gone on to become the Master Franchise owner of a Major Franchise today.

Colin then wrote the very effective and highly sought after program How to Master the Art of Selling New Homes. For a long time this was the only program of its type. Today, this is still the only recognized program in the industry and is taught to the members of SISV Services Pte Ltd which is a wholly owned company of the Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers, Public Listed Companies in Singapore and Malaysia.
